The second annual Pacific Astronomy and Engineering Summit (PAES), sponsored by the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) and hosted by the Imiloa Astronomy Center, will gather high school students and educators from the TMT partner countries: Japan, China, India, Canada and the United States (Hawaii Island).
The first Pacific Astronomy and Engineering Education Summit, sponsored by TMT and the County of Hawaii, and hosted at the Imiloa Astronomy Center and the University of Hawaii at Hilo, brought together high school students and educators from China, Japan, India, Canada and the Big Island for four days of intense learning and interaction.
To foster global collaboration in science, engineering and education, the Thirty Meter Telescope and the County of Hawaii are co-sponsoring a 4-day international education summit from July 23 through 26, 2013 at various locations at UH Hilo and the 'Imiloa Astronomy Center.
TMT, in partnership Akamai Workforce Initiative (AWI) and Hawaii Community College, encourages high school students to sign up for this summer's Akamai Observatory Career Exploration session, offered June 10th through June 21st at Kealakehe High School.
