Call for TMT International Science Development Teams (ISDTs) Applications

TMT is currently accepting applications for its International Science Development Teams (ISDTs) until March 1, 2023.

The TMT ISDTs are groups of researchers who work together to provide scientific input to the TMT Science Advisory Committee and the TMT project. The ISDTs develop ideas for new science projects and contribute to the updating of TMT’s detailed science case. They assist with planning ahead for future TMT science programs as well as stimulate and build connections between the TMT and international astronomical communities.

ISDTs are one of the best ways for TMT community astronomers to get involved in the definition of TMT’s science capabilities. The ISDT groups are organized around the following nine science themes:

  •  Fundamental physics and cosmology
  •  Early universe, galaxy formation and the intergalactic medium
  •  Supermassive black holes
  •  Milky Way and nearby galaxies
  •  Stars, stellar physics and the interstellar medium
  •  Formation of stars and planets
  •  Exoplanets
  •  Our solar system
  •  Time domain science

All qualified Ph.D. scientists can send their application to isdt@tmt.org. More information about ISDTs and how to join can be found at https://www.tmt.org/page/isdt

Deadline to apply: March 1st, 2023
